henhouse brunch.

I had the best pancakes this morning at the Henhouse and I wanted more.  I'm not a pancake person but these were homemade, petit, delicious.  I think it will be my new Sunday brunch spot where no lining up is required, for now.

spring into summer.

Here are a set of my new shoulder bags which I will be doing more of.  There was a style not shown here that sold out at my Ottawa show awhile back.  I am currently sewing new styles and they will be featured at my show in June.  Until then, enjoy these for a bit.

xoxo, gossip girl.

I'm a bit late on the Gossip Girl wagon but I'm pretty obsessed.  I was going through an old Teen Vogue with Leighton Meester on the cover who plays Blair Waldorf on the show.  Anyways, thought it was so NY.  Of course, there was some Keith Haring in there!

oblong pillow.

I am officially loving this pillow shape.  I normally done square cushions but this new shape is really great for beds or chairs.  I like it in pairs or by itself.  This one is made from reclaimed wool printed with the white elk print.  Look for it soon at my show or online.

brush stroke pouch.

I finally got to cut up some of that brush strokes fabric I got and here are a few pictures of what I made.  They're little pouches and they fit a lot.  I got my cards, cellphone and money into it.  Hope you like.  They will be available at my show in June.  Keep you posted on more details.  There will be a few new items at that show so stay tuned for new products on the way.

can't sleep.

It's late and it's one of those things you can't put to sleep.  It took a few clicks but I love this picture.  I tend to struggle with my work at times.  When I'm designing, printing, sewing and then the final project.  Through all that it's hard to sum up what you like about your stuff in the end.  I find this photo sums it up for me and I like it!

no pictures please.

Today I spent the afternoon taking photos of my work at my sister's shop.  It felt like I was taking the same photos over and over again.  I just uploaded them on my computer and they came out pretty good.  Stay tuned for updates and photos of some of my new work.

vidal sassoon.

Every Spring or whenever my hair is long I make the trip up to Vidal Sassoon and see my friend Karen for a fresh cut.  I've had many haircuts, colours and everything in between but I am glad to have Karen tame the hair and have it looking stylish and easy to maintain each time I see her. The cuts I've had ranged from classic to creative I've yet to compile a series of my hair evolution.  All in all, haircuts make me happy.

the never-ending jacket.

As bad as not affording this Keith Haring jacket and seeing it on Rihanna I was going through my Vogue Hommes Japan magazine and there it was again.  In my face, once again.  One day it will be on my back!

keith haring sighting.

Yes, Sadly this jacket was spotted on Rihanna this week-end and I think it's cute.  For the $2050 US price tag I think I would wait until I'd get it.  I think Keith would rolling in his grave if he knew Jeremy Scott had the rights to use his art for his clothing line.  I still think it's a cute jacket.

vogue hommes japan.

I am so excited about rifling through my Vogue Hommes Japan.  I haven't seen or read it physically so I am so happy that I grabbed a copy.  The fashion spreads and styling in this magazine are insane.  I am not a huge fan of Men's fashion but the editorials in Vogue Hommes Japan are so inspiring.

hello tokyo!

My friend Miho came back from Japan and brought back some goodies.  Some sweet treats that I have no idea what they are and a cute Keith Haring t-shirt for my nephew.  Sorry, ladies NO japanese craft books for me.  The ones I requested were not found.  I was told there are a bunch of new ones out there that are really good, current and amazing.  I guess we all have to take a trip to Tokyo, one day.  Domo Miho!

A.P.C + Liberty.

All I've been hearing about is Liberty fabrics lately and I thought I would post this cute collection that A.P.C is collaborating with Liberty.  There's this cute floral duffle bag that I want, I will opt out and just make my own with Liberty fabrics.

new fabric.

I had the most wonderful time having a day off by myself.  It was a sunny day and I thought I'd walk along Queen.  I went into The Workroom and I picked up some cute fabrics that I think will make cute pouches.  I didn't get the name but it was called brush strokes I think.  You will have to run down to the The Workroom and check it out.  I will post pictures of my final projects from the fabric.

ottawa part 3.

I've been wanting to go to Westboro Village which is this cute up and coming part of Ottawa because I read about The Candy Store.  I'm glad I got to visit it and stock up with some great goodies.  I got some salt water taffy in various flavours, these fancy malt balls from NYC and crazy flavoured gummy bears which were award winning gummy bears. I had the most amazing time and that was just a few highlights.  I will soon visit once again and meet new people like always.  Goodbye Ottawa!

ottawa part 2.

Although I was down to showcase my work at Ladyfest Ottawa which went very well.  Thank you again to the ladies and gents that came to my table and left with something special.  It was awesome meeting all of you who showed much support for my work.  I hope my new work was well received by you all.  It was also the Tulip festival that was going on that week-end.  The whole city was covered in Tulips and I only got one nice day to enjoy it until it rained.  Here are some shots of Tulips and my new work from the show.

ottawa part 1.

*me trying to be an Ottawa local.

*Ottawa's guilty pleasure, the Beavertail.

*The Byward Market.

*Bridgehead coffee, not quite Darkhorse but it's Ottawa's answer to it.

*the night before.

I am back from Ottawa and it seems like I was gone longer.  I won't go on about my trip but the tulips were amazing, the poutine delicious, the streets were clean, and I don't miss everything shutting down at 6pm even if it is the week-end.  Here are some shots of Ottawa favourites of mine and a shot of my wall the night before I left.  I was literally printing tea towels before I left the city.

adieu ottawa.

I am finally back home from Ottawa and what a trip it was.  I will blog more photos and tell you more about my trip later.  Although it was a bit rainy this week-end I had the most amazing adventure in the capital city.

happy birthday keith haring.

Today is Keith Haring's birthday.  He would have been 51.  I wanted to share this pic cause I actually have this t-shirt that Uniqlo did to celebrate his 50th birthday last year.

love it.

Hollie from White Elephant Vintage and Love It A Lot blogged me awhile ago.  She was nice enough to post my spring pochettes on her site Love It A Lot.  I love their vintage wares and finds.  So check out their site and post.  I will be soon be sending out some of my new work at their cute shop in Hamilton, Ontario.  Keep you posted.

JCDC

This makes me happy when I watch this.  I HEART JEAN CHARLES DE CASTELBAJAC.  I love his work and I think it's very happy, humourous and inspiring.  I will write more about him later but for now, enjoy the video!
