almost done.

It's one of my last nights here and I am almost finished packing.  I'm no Carrie Bradshaw but you know in the movie where she's packing up her Oscar De La Renta gowns, Dior bags and Manolos?  Well, Samantha never came by with champagne, nor was "Walk This Way" blasting and I didn't come out of my walk in closet with that famous pink tutu.  I can dream can't I?  Anyhow, I am so happy to move and I know I'm not going far but there were many memories in this place.  See you when I am officially moved.  I want this chair!

sneak peak.

I will be a featured artist at bookhou in July part of my sister's monthly rotating featured artist series.  I can't tell you much but I will say that I will be featuring a capsule collection of bags I made for the show.  These will be different from what I normally do for my lines by: davis. bags so I hope you will like them.  Anyhow, here's a sneak peak of what will be at the show.  I will keep you posted once I am moved and settled.  Stay tuned.

I'm still packing and the madness will hopefully end next Monday.  I stumbled upon Matt W. Moore's work awhile ago and was going to post something but then this moving thing happened.  Anyhow, I am secretly loving his work.  I'm not into super styled graphic designs and there are probably few people's work that I like but his company has done some cool projects.  The company does work for high -profile companies, advertising projects, packaging, clothing you name it.  What I would love if Matt would do a series of textile projects with his designs.  I tried looking but couldn't find anything.  I'm sure he has probably done some but if anyone knows let me know!  Here are some of my favourite picks.

moving.

It's been super crazy since my last post.  Thanks to all that came out to The Beaches to see my sister Arounna and I, it was a beautiful week-end and Piper my niece was such a good little girl.  I am moving in like 13 days and hopefully I will get through it.  I am also working on pieces for my show in the bookhou shop in July.  I am a great multi-tasker so hopefully everything settles out in July.  I've been inspired by geometry, lines, 2 and 3D shapes with lately so I will be experimenting with those ideas with my bags.  Wish me luck!

hello tokyo, again.

I finally received my package from Kinokuniya Bookstore in New York.  I have never been so I thought I'd order some goodies.  I feel like all these crafty girls get to blog about their Japanese craft books so I was kind of feeling like the last one to start one.  I ordered my Umami Midori bag book which I wanted because it's all totes which I love and there are some amazing patterns I'd like to try.  I then got all nostalgic cause back in the day, like 12 years ago I had an array collection of Japanese fashion magazines.  So I ordered Fruits (of course) and Men's Nonno which is a good one.  Hopefully I will get to visit that bookstore and stock up!

peaches.

I finished one of my new bags for the show this week-end and I really think it's cute.  What do you think?  I've been really getting into purse styles which I normally don't make but I think it's peachy.  This style comes in grey also.

bookhou & lines by: davis.

It's almost crunch time and the stitches are stitching!  I have a few more days to finish off some bags and new goods for this week-ends show.  Hopefully the clouds will leave so that it will be a sunny week-end.  If you already don't know my sister and I are selling are goods at the Beaches Arts & Craft show this week-end June 13-14.  Come out and support handmade and say hi at our tent.  Back to the sewing and I hope to see you there!

Lately I've been thinking about starting a kids collection and looking at the Marc Jacobs Spring 09 collection I've been totally itching to start it.  Finding a way to incorporate lines by: davis. and have it translate well with kids clothing will be something I will have to figure out.  For now, the line is yet to have a name but my ideas for outfits are slowly coming.  I will probably be doing a lot of jersey tops, t-shirt dresses and sweatshirt raglan shirts for boys.  After looking at the campaign for the LMBMJ the models were styled and shot really well.  The collection resembled the adult collection to a tee.  These "hipster kids" look like there were strolling down the streets of NY headed off to party in SoHo.  Inspiring and exciting.  Look out for my kids line, hopefully soon.

I finally did it and started my Etsy shop.  I give total respect to all you Etsy folks because I did not know how much work goes into this.  My Etsy shop is still under construction but I am getting a handle on it now.  Anyhow, I am also working on stuff for my show next week-end and hopefully the weather will beautiful day of shopping in The Beach.  I will be showcasing my new work along with some special stuff for the show.  As a special treat, my sister of bookhou will be showing her stuff also.  Those of of you who love lines by: davis & bookhou be sure to come visit us next week-end.  I will post more details in the next few days.  Other than that I've been pretty busy so I hope to see you next week-end.  Check out my Etsy shop or stop by the show!  See you then.
