giveaway.

Ok, so I am almost packed up and ready to move.  I am almost finishing my pieces for my show next week.  I am also ready to leave the city.  So, for Canada Day I will be giving away one of my cute saddle totes.  Leave a comment on your favourite shop in CANADA.  YES, your favourite place to go or shop in CANADA and leave a link if possible and tell me why you LOVE this shop in CANADA.  I will announce and pick a random winner on JULY 1st or a bit after that.  Until then, leave your comments in the box.  I will be mailing this out to the winner anywhere in the world.

  1. La Bella Mona Lisa! A funky art gallery on Cape Breton. We went there on our honeymoon 17 years ago, bought a fish sculpture when we were there, and then i ordered 2 kitchen cows for my husband's birthday from them the following Fall.
Lo & Behold, 17 years later, we live in SOuthen CA, but the Mona Lisa is still there! They even have a website! Someday we hope to return to Cape Breton, which is truly a beautiful place, and we will go back to this gallery! Wonderful memories!

  2. Maiwa Handprints on Granville Island is one of my favourite shops, ever. They have beautiful hand dyed and printed textiles, lots of striped fabrics which are my faves. I still get compliments on a scarf I bought ther 10 years ago while wandering around this vancouver gem!

  3. My favorite place to shop is Goodwill thrift stores where ever they might be. They are still the most affordable second hand stores in Canada. I love your new line of satchels. All the best with your show!!!

  5. My favourite place to shop is the Japanese Paper Place. I love the variety of paper there and the limitless possibilities in creations one can take with them. I feel like such a kid every time I go there.

  7. I have to pick just ONE??? Well, I guess I'll pick preloved. The unique designs and reclaiming of vintage fabrics appeals to the crafter in me and I love seeing all the amazing stuff they come up with!

  8. Titles Bookstore in Peterborough. It's an independent. They promote Canadian books. The staff is friendly and courteous. They can order pretty much anything you ask them if they don't have it in the store.

  9. The last comment about Titles is from me. But the OpenID looks ridiculous so I'll just add my email address so you can contact me if I win. :)

  11. Hi Davis. Can I choose my own shop - Love, Me Boutique? I only wanted to open a shop that I would shop in. There are some other great stores with a similar handmade/canadian mandate like Workshop Boutique (Ottawa) or Natalie-Roze or Studio Fresh (both Toronto). Good luck with your show at Bookhou. I hear Arounna and John's new space is beautiful.
